Questions and answer key
1Gap 1 in the email
- Acost the most
- Bare for RVs only
- ✓hold only four people
- Dare reserved for groups
Answer: C (hold only four people)
Walk-in tent sites have a 'Max. People' of 4, and Kevin's group has five. They are actually the cheapest sites, and they are neither group nor RV sites.
2Gap 2 in the email
- Agroup
- Bstandard drive-in
- Cserviced RV
- ✓lakefront drive-in
Answer: D (lakefront drive-in)
Waking 'next to the water' points to the Lakefront drive-in, which holds six people. The other site types are not described as being by the lake, and the group site is for up to 20.
3Gap 3 in the email
- A$52
- B$40
- C$38
- ✓$48
Answer: D ($48)
The Lakefront drive-in 'Fri–Sat Night' price is $48. $40 is its Sunday-to-Thursday price, and $38 and $52 are weekend prices for other site types.
4Gap 4 in the email
- A$20
- B$10
- C$8
- ✓$30
Answer: D ($30)
A second vehicle 'costs $10 per night', and they stay three nights: 3 × $10 = $30. $10 is just one night, and $8 is the reservation fee.
5Gap 5 in the email
- A$190
- B$144
- C$166
- ✓$174
Answer: D ($174)
Site: $40 + $48 + $48 = $136; extra car $30; reservation fee $8 'once per booking': $136 + $30 + $8 = $174. $166 leaves out the fee; $190 charges the fee every night; $144 forgets the extra car.
6Which type of site is the only one with electricity?
- ✓Serviced RV site
- BGroup site
- CStandard drive-in
- DLakefront drive-in
Answer: A
The Serviced RV site is the only row with 'Yes' in the Electricity column; all other sites say 'No'.
7A group of 12 people books one site for Friday night only. How much will they pay in total?
- A$110
- B$98
- ✓$118
- D$128
Answer: C
Twelve people need the Group site (max. 20), which is $110 on a Friday, plus the $8 reservation fee: $118. $110 leaves out the fee, and $98 uses the Sunday-to-Thursday rate plus the fee.
8What does the note say about the reservation fee?
- AIt is refunded if the booking is cancelled early.
- BIt is already included in the nightly price.
- ✓It is charged once for each booking and cannot be refunded.
- DIt is charged for every night of the stay.
Answer: C
The note says 'A non-refundable $8 reservation fee is charged once per booking, not per night.' This rules out a nightly charge, a refund, or inclusion in the nightly price.
