The three-move diagram read
- 1
Read the note under the diagram before the diagram
The exceptions live there — who is excluded, which rows a discount applies to, what is free.
- 2
Answer each gap from the diagram alone
Sixty of every ninety tagged questions in our Part 2 items are pure detail. If you cannot point at where the diagram says it, it is not the answer.
- 3
Re-read any option containing "only", "except" or "under"
Those words are where the distractors are built.
The exceptions live in the small print.
The most common wrong answer applies a rule to a row the note excludes.
Part 2 gives you a diagram — a timetable, a floor plan, a price list — and a half-written reply. Every gap is answered from the diagram alone, so read the note or footnote before you start: it is where the exceptions hide.
Reading is scored by the number of correct answers, so there is no rubric to satisfy — only the text in front of you. Every question below has its answer and an explanation of why the other options fail.

- No. Every answer is in the diagram or its notes. If a choice sounds plausible but you cannot point to where the diagram says it, it is wrong.
- What makes Part 2 harder than it looks?
- The small print. Discounts, exceptions and "only on" conditions in a footnote are the most common source of wrong answers.
