186 words · no sign-upDear Customer Service Manager, I am writing to complain about a delivery that did not take place. On September 20, I ordered a three-seat grey sofa from your Laval store, order number 58731, and paid $1,480 in full, including a $90 delivery fee. Your staff confirmed that it would be delivered on Saturday, October 4, between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. On that day, I stayed at home for the entire morning and well into the afternoon, but no one arrived. Nobody called to explain the delay either, and when I phoned the store at 2:00 p.m., I was put on hold for forty minutes before the line disconnected. To be available, I had missed my son's hockey game, and I had already given away my old sofa, so my family now has nowhere comfortable to sit. I would like the sofa to be delivered within the next week, on a date that we confirm in advance. I would also ask for the $90 delivery fee to be refunded because of the inconvenience. Please reply to this email or call me at 514-555-0182. Sincerely, Julien Tremblay
Why this answer works
- The first paragraph gives every detail a store would need (date, item, order number, amount paid and delivery window), so the first bullet is fully addressed.
- The effects are personal and specific, from a forty-minute hold to having no sofa at home, which makes the complaint convincing without exaggeration.
- The two-part request (a confirmed delivery date and a refund of the $90 fee) is direct yet courteous, and the tone stays formal from greeting to sign-off.
