132 words · no sign-upLast summer my friends and I drove up to Algonquin Park for a day of canoeing. We left Toronto at five in the morning, so we were exhausted, but as soon as we got on the water, everyone woke up. The lake was completely calm, and there was mist rising from the surface. About an hour in, we saw a moose standing in the shallow water near the shore, which none of us had ever seen before. We just stopped paddling and watched it in silence for several minutes. In the afternoon the wind picked up and paddling back was really tiring, and we got sunburned too. But that moment with the moose made the whole trip worth it. It's a memory I go back to whenever city life feels too busy.
Why this answer works
- Vivid sensory details (calm lake, mist rising) give the description depth without becoming a list.
- Includes a minor difficulty in the afternoon, showing balance and honest storytelling.
- Clear statement of what made the day special, which is what the prompt asks.
